my favorite flower

my favorite flower...

This is my absolute favorite flower thats in my garden. Each year I look forward to seeing this little thing blossom. Of course I’ve completely forgotten the name of it, but next time I go to the nursery I’ll write it down. It grows tall, slender stems with these small little red flowers on top. They are so elegant and full of color, like jewelry in my flower garden.

  1. Love your site — great photos! I write about flower news, trends, events, etc. at http://www.teleflora.com/flowerblog. Hope you’ll check it out.

  2. It’s a ranuculus. I don’t have them in the garden but I love them too. This is a fabulous shot!

It does look just like a ranunculus, doesn’t it? But it isn’t. It’s a fuzzy little drought tolerant perennial. I’ve got to stop at the nursery and find out what it was, because I’d love to buy more.

  4. Thank you for being so nice after my know it all answer. I turned pink and laughed out loud. I was a florist for too many years and mistakenly think I own flowers. Do let me know what it is when you find out.

Lovely! I think it’s a guem -at least, it looks like the geums I have in my yard. But it doesn’t matter what you call it so long as you like it! :)
