Oh wow, how lucky you are to have such delicious looking peaches in your garden. I think I may consider having a peach tree in my yard in the years to come. They are so nice, aren't they?

We have apple and pear trees that produce like crazy. We also just planted a cherry tree and nectarine tree this year, so I hope next year, I'll get a decent harvest.

I love cilantro as much as I loved reading Comfort Me With Apples. Actually any of Ruth Reichl's books. I missed the part about eating the cilantro roots though. Thanks for all the great info. I may take the jalapenos I planted that have not done a thing and grow cilantro instead. Thankfully the potted serranos have been generous.

My first lot is just going to seed, and second lot is ready to eat, I planted the first lot, transplants from a friends garden, and the second lot just appeared. (A Thai lady used to live in my house, my bets on that she grew it before me.) I eat it all, leaves, stalks, flowers and seeds, and yes roots. I really like it in thai curries, like a green curry with chickpeas.

Cilantro is my favorite! Thanks for the useful info about drying it and using the pods for corriander. We've never had really good luck with Cilantro. It just always bolts too fast. One day it's small and the next it is huge and has flowers. But now I know what to do once it flowers.

Hi Sinfonian, I don't think this book is area specific. They teach it world-wide, so I'm guessing that they adapt their plantings and varieties in different areas.

Compostings- I know what you mean about some gardening books being too 'out there'. This one certainly has it's 'earthly elements' to it, but nothing that strikes me (at least) of being too whacky.

Gardenmama- I'm glad you enjoyed reading these posts. I hope to do more things like this in the future. It was fun.
